The plan to introduce a common currency in West Africa has been difficult achieve. Since this was agreed upon by member countries, it faced more than 5 postponements, and made scholars experts question whether the will ever be introduced sub-region. This comes from postponement of launch 2027. Before announcement, confronted with various issues challenges (convergence criteria, fear loss fiscal sovereignty, CFA franc zone, France hegemonic pressure).
